Scholarships and Fellowships

UCLA Engineering students are among the best and brightest in California and the world. More 30 students apply for each undergraduate opening at UCLA Engineering.

Our graduate students hail from top engineering programs at schools around the world. At UCLA Engineering, we have a ratio of roughly one Ph.D. graduate to one faculty member each year, one of the most productive programs in the country.

Yet a high percentage of students struggle to pay the full costs of an engineering education.

Endowed scholarships for undergraduates and fellowships for graduate students preserve the UCLA Engineering tradition of excellence, diversity and access, removing financial barriers for promising students and helping the school to attract top-flight candidates. Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of financial need, academic merit and other criteria.

An endowment is a permanent fund that earns interest income through The UCLA Foundation. Interest from the endowment pays for scholarships and fellowships, while the principal remains in perpetuity. Scholarships and fellowships also can be made on a one-time basis.
