Holly and David Mitchell ’77 – B.O.L.D. members

Higher education is very important. If we all give a little, we can make a difference for the school.

Dave Mitchell worked a part-time job while earning his bachelor’s degree at UCLA Engineering. It was rigorous, but it was worth it. Dave went on to get his Master’s in Aerospace Engineering at Northrop University, lectured at Cal Poly Pomona, and worked for NASA. In 2011, he founded Mitchell Aerospace Research. Among many honors, he is an American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics Associate Fellow and won the NASA Group Achievement Award. Dave credits UCLA Engineering as the foundation of his success.

Dave and his wife Holly support a wide number of organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America and UCLA Athletics, and have been giving to UCLA Engineering for more than 25 consecutive years. We are proud to welcome the Mitchells into the inaugural class of the Bruin Order of Loyal Donors (B.O.L.D.)!

B.O.L.D. is the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science’s new loyalty society for donors who have shown their support for the last two consecutive years or more. The names of B.O.L.D. members are published in an online honor roll at the beginning of the following academic year. Gifts of any amount make you eligible for B.O.L.D. membership.
